An Evaluation of the Corporate Identity of GMA Network
If you don’t have cable and your hobby is watching TV then maybe you’re one of those people who debate for the number 1 TV station!(GMA or ABS-CBN?) Me? Sorry but I got to leave that business to those people.
For all Kapamilyas, forgive me for I’ve got to give way right now to the station where LOVE is a 3-letter word! (I’m not bias, and this doesn’t mean that I’m a Kapuso neither a Kapamilya. Its just that I’m curious of GMA Network new logo.

We always hear the “Kapuso, Anumang Kulay ng Buhay” song when we watch this network. This slogan was related to its logo for it explains the nature and meaning of the logo. The red heart represents that one of us has only one heart in every colors of life.
According to (http://desktoppub.about.com/cs/colorselection/p/red.htm), red symbolizes love and war. Of all the color red is the hottest and it’s a strong color that conjures up a range of seemingly conflicting emotions from passionate love to violence and warfare.
Based on (http://www.colorsontheweb.com/meaningofred.asp), red is regarded as a hot, warm color and it symbolize aggression and high energy. It is also a sign of warning, danger and error. In the Western World it is also a symbol of love and passion.
Also, according to (http://www.crystal-cure.com/red.html), red is the warmest of all the colors and it is most chosen by the extroverts and one of the top picks of males. On the negative side red can also mean anger and temper.
Red usually represents love and war but as we know that GMA doesn’t want conflict and war to occur but they chose red because first we know that hearts are usually red and second, it symbolize love, in their slogan they want to spread the love that anyone should have in order to have a peaceful and calm world.
How about the rainbow colors? Well based on (http://www.crystal-cure.com/color-emotions2.html), they give the seven rays of the rainbow and what they symbolize. Blue symbolizes spirituality; sea and sky are commonly blue which is giving us the message of peace, understanding and calmness. Yellow means wisdom, it gives us clarity of thought and orderliness. Red symbolizes vitality, when we usually see red it gives us energy, enthusiasm and passion. From the primary colors comes orange which represents creative energy, it show creativity, playfulness and equilibrium. Green symbolizes life, balance and nature, because of its harmony and sympathy. Indigo represents infinity because it open the subconscious, it give sudden awareness and self mastery. And last but not the least the violet, as a matter of fact it represent the highest element of spiritual mastery and this color is associated with sorrow and signifies high spiritual attainment.
Rainbow colors represent or symbolize many things and GMA network associated this rainbow colors in the lives of many Filipinos. Whether you are in light (at peace) or in dark (in troubles and confusion) or in a colorful state (which means happiness and and full of excitement), you have a network to lean on! (FYI, I’m not at any kind of advertisement!lol!)
Color represent, symbolize and mean many things in our lives. Like the GMA network’s logo, “Kapuso, Anumang Kulay ng Buhay”, they want to send message in your hearts by the use of this wonderfully-created colors. They want to let you know that in any colors of our lives, whatever state or condition you are in, there is one network for us, because GMA and all the Filipinos have only one heart! (if I apply as an advertiser for GMA im sured that I’m hired!joke!)
